The Extended Lighthouse Tour
The Extended Lighthouse Tour
Cape Cod Lighthouse Tour: A Journey Through Time and Coastal Beauty!
For all the lighthouse lovers out there, we’ve created an extended Lighthouse Tour that’s sure to light up your Cape Cod experience! The Outer Cape is home to some of the most beautiful and historically significant lighthouses in the country—beacons that have guided mariners through the Cape’s famously treacherous sandbars for centuries.
Today, only a handful of these lighthouses remain accessible to the public, and we’re excited to take you on a scenic journey to visit them. Our thoughtfully crafted itinerary spans from Chatham to Provincetown, following picturesque coastal roads and offering up-close views of these coastal icons.
What to Expect
You’ll get a chance to visit the lighthouses that are open for public tours as well as enjoy breathtaking views of those that can only be admired from a distance. Each lighthouse has its own unique charm, story, and vantage point, making this tour a memorable way to explore the Cape.
The Lighthouses that we’ll focus on are:
- Chatham Lighthouse
View Only, except Wednesdays from 1–3 PM (July–September).
A picturesque lighthouse still in use by the U.S. Coast Guard, offering great photo ops. - Nauset Light (Eastham)
View Only, with select open house hours.
An iconic red-and-white lighthouse known for its role in maritime history—and potato chip bags! - Three Sisters Lighthouses (Eastham)
View Only
A unique trio of restored lighthouses that once stood watch along the Nauset coastline. - Truro Highland Lighthouse
Open to the Public – Ticket included in the price
Climb the historic tower for panoramic Atlantic Ocean views. Don’t miss the charming gift shop! - Long Point Lighthouse (Provincetown)
View Only
Remote and beautiful, visible from the shores of Provincetown or via a long beach walk. - Wood End Lighthouse (Provincetown)
View Only
Situated across the tidal flats, it offers a striking photo opportunity at low tide. - Race Point Lighthouse (Provincetown)
View Only
Remote but dramatic, best seen from the Province Lands or via hiking trails. - Pilgrim Monument (Provincetown)
Open to the Public – Ticket not included in the price
While not a lighthouse, this towering landmark offers spectacular views and a museum at its base. It’s a great final stop with grassy grounds and panoramic vistas of Provincetown harbor.
We’ve also provided a schedule for those lighthouses with limited visiting hours so you can make the most of your tour. Whether you’re climbing a historic tower or gazing from afar, this journey promises stunning views and a deeper appreciation of Cape Cod’s maritime heritage.
We can start on either end of the itinerary and can pick you up anywhere on the Cape.
